Lupyan Lab
In addition to doing scientifically informed philosophy, I also seek to contribute to the development of philosophically informed science. To this end, during the fall 2023 semester, I was a Visiting Graduate Student at the Lupyan Lab, based out of the UW-Madison Department of Psychology.
My involvement with the lab primarily consisted of participating in the lab’s weekly meetings, which focused on the ongoing research projects of the lab’s researchers and visiting scholars. I attempted to bring a philosophical perspective to these discussions: often attempting to identify philosophical assumptions (and implications) present in the ongoing research, as well as making researchers aware of relevant distinctions and terminology present within the philosophical literature that they could employ when designing their experiments and interpreting their results.
